Peter Uihlein tamed the TPC Summerlin for a first-round 8-under 63 to take the lead Thursday in the Shriners Hospital for Children Open in Las Vegas. The former European Tour veteran took a one-stroke lead over Seth Reeves.

    Jordan Spieth and Bryson DeChambeau stayed within hailing distance and are tied for fifth after 5-under 66s. Rickie Fowler, Matt Kuchar and Jason Dufner are deadlocked for 19th at 3 under and Gary Woodland and Tony Finau are tied for 32nd at 2 under. 

    Gator Brian Gay is 3 over par and four strokes off the early projected cut line of minus 1.
