Two Double Bogeys Hurt Oosthuizen in Tulsa
Friday, May 20, 2022

Louis Oosthuizen kicked off the PGA Championship with a 3-over-par 73 at Southern Hills Thursday, but he's still in the hunt in a tie for 78th since scores were pretty high in Tulsa. The leaders are Rory McIlroy, at 5 under; and Will Zalatoris and Tom Hoge, both 4 under. All three played early and their scores held up all day.

Louis made two birdies and two bogeys on the front side, but a double bogey on No. 2 left him at 2-over-37. Coming home, he made two birdies, one bogey and another double on No. 13.

Seminoles: Daniel Berger - 3-over-73, tied for 78th; Brooks Koepka - 5-over 75, tied for 114th, same as Gator Billy Horschel.

Tiger had an up-and-down afternoon and finished at 4-over 74, tied for 99th. At various times during the round, he had a noticeable limp.

POTTER LOOKING BETTER IN RETURN - In Kansas City, Ted Potter opened with a 1-over-par 73 in the $750,000 Advent Health Championship, and he's tied for 86th. The early projected cut will come at even par or 1 under, so Ted just needs to get under par to reach the weekend for the first time this season after five missed cuts. He made 15 pars, two bogeys and one birdie.
