LAUREL, MD – Friday’s Stronach 5, featuring a $100,000 guaranteed pool and a 12-percent takeout, had 17 winning tickets each worth a generous $7,039.

    The sequence kicked off with Gulfstream’s eighth race and a $15.60 winner in Fujairah, the longest price of the 5, and ended with Santa Anita’s third race and 6-5 favorite Tiberius Mercurius holding off War Path for the victory. Tiberius Mercurius was the shortest price of the day.
