Scott Wins Genesis Invitational as Riviera Takes Its Toll
Monday, February 17, 2020

All Adam Scott needed to win the Genesis Invitational by one stroke was to make a par on the 18th hole. But Adam put an exclamation point on his victory by making a birdie, finishing at 11 under par. Two strokes behind were Sung Kang, Scott Brown and Matt Kuchar as the Riviera Country Club proved to be too much for all those who made the cut, most of all Tiger Woods, who shot a final-round 77 and finished dead last at 11 over.

Nobody was able to make any kind of late run, and the best rounds of the day were a few 3-under-par 68s. Scott was able to hang on even though he shot 1-under 70.

Seminole Brooks Koepka closed at even par and tied for 43rd, and the top players will now head for the WGC-Mexico Championship with its purse of $10,500,000. The rest will be off to the $3 million Puerto Rico Open.
