Rustlewood Farm Comes Up Big on Tampa's Florida Cup Program

    Lost in all the excitement of Florida Cup day, with all the records for victories set by jockeys, trainers and farms, was the excellent performances by runners bred by George and Karen Russell's Rustlewood Farm in Reddick.

    In race 5, the $110,000 Equistaff Sophomore Turf, Rustlewood Farm-bred Indy Lyon won by a nose and earned a check for $60,000.

    Two races later, in the $110,000 OBS Sophomore Stakes, Rustlewood Farm-bred Shoo Shine finished third at odds of 19-1 and collected $10,000. 

    In the eighth race, the $110,000 Grey Goose Turf Classic, Rustlewood Farm-bred Shamrocket finished second, earning $20,000. 

    Lovely Luvy closed out the Rustlewood success by finishing third in the $110,000 Pleasant Acres Stallions Distaff Turf, collecting another $10,000. 

    The total purse money earned by the Rustlewood-breds came to $100,000.
