Rowland Plagued by Double Bogeys in St. Louis
Saturday, September 10, 2022

Roger Rowland's woes on the Champions Tour continue.

The former Ocalan is dead last after the first round of the Ascension Charity Classic in St. Louis after a 6-over-par 77 at the Norwood Hills Country Club. He was buried again by his constant bugaboo - double bogeys - he took three during his round of 41-36, all on par 4s. He also made three birdies and as many bogeys.

Red-hot Padraig Harrington is tied for the lead with Bernhard Langer with 6-under 66s, one stroke ahead of Ernie Els, Steve Alker, Stephen Flesch, Mike Weir and Jose Maria Olazabal.

GATORS: Scott Dunlap - tie for 26th, 2-under 69; Brian Gay - tied for 37th, 1-under 70; Chris DiMarco - tied for 71st, even-par 71, same as Marco Dawson, former touring pro at Ocala's Adena Springs course.
