Rainbow 6 Pays More Than $5,000

    HALLANDALE BEACH - A mandatory payout of the 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot yielded multiple $5,084.66 payoffs on the second of eight consecutive Monday programs at Gulfstream Park.

    TCC Stables’ Jayhawk ($2.60), favored at 1-5, captured the Race 9 finale, a one-mile claiming event for older horses on the grass, to complete the winning 2-3-1-13-7-1 combination. There were 88 tickets sold.

    Other winners in the sequence were Always True ($26.80) in Race 4, Sum of Success ($4.80) in Race 5, Ironsides ($10.20) in Race 6, Sweet Agenda ($7.80) in Race 7 and Brother Brad ($7.80) in Race 8.

    A total of $527,621 was bet into the Rainbow 6 Monday on top of an $26,025.31 carryover from Sunday’s program, for a grand total of $553,646.

    The Rainbow 6 produced multiple mandatory payouts of $48,609.94 July 13. There will be a mandatory payout every Monday at Gulfstream through the conclusion of the Royal Palm Meet Aug. 31.

    Monday’s 50-cent Late Pick 5 (Races 7-11) returned $419.55. There were payouts of $1,397.40 in the $1 Players Place Pick 8 (Races 2-9), $137.70 in the $3 Late Pick 3 (Races 7-9), $42 in the $5 Late Double (Races 8-9), and $291.70 in the $1 Summer Sweep Pick 5 featuring Races 6, 8 and 9 from Gulfstream and Races 7-8 from Parx.

    Notes: Jockey Diego Herrera swept Monday’s late daily double with Brother Brad ($7.80) in Race 8 and Jayhawk ($2.60) in Race 9 to move into a tie with Samy Camacho atop the Royal Palm Meet leaderboard at 71 wins apiece … Both Jayhawk and Sum of Success ($4.80) in Race 5 are trained by Bobby Dibona.
