Potter To Play in Last Two Events Before "Playoffs"
Monday, August 14, 2017

The Web.com Tour has just two events remaining before reaching "The Playoffs," the four-tournament wind-up, all with a purse of $1 million, culminating with the Tour Championship in north Florida. Ted Potter's PGA card for the 2017-2018 wrap-around season is already assured - he remained in 12th place on the money list with $199,379 in the bank despite sitting out the Price-Cutter Charity Championship that ended yesterday.

After this week's News Sentinel Open in Knoxville, which is worth $550,000, all that remains for players to make a last-ditch effort to sneak into the top 25 is the $800,000 WinCo Foods Portland Open, and Ted will play in both as a warmup to the playoffs. Former Gator Dudley Hart will play in Knoxville, as will Seminole Jack Maguire and two-time Ocala Open winner Dan McCarthy.

There are a slew of former name PGA players battling to make the 25, including Jason Gore, Daniel Chopra, Casey Wittenberg, Scott Gutschewski and Robert Allenby. Currently, the player in the 25th spot has earned $152,337. One who will be back is Chesson Hadley, who finished third in the Price-Cutter and is second on the money list with $261,796.

As has been the case so often this season, another newbie popped up in the Price-Cutter event, Ben Silverman winding up at 25 under par and winning by a stroke over Talor Gooch. Silverman's victory was worth $121,500 and vaulted him from 63rd to 16th on the list with $187,537. Gooch collected $72,900 and moved from 39th to 20th.
