Potter Survives Cut at NV5 Invitational
Saturday, May 28, 2022

Round 2 didn't go as well as round 1 for Ted Potter in the NV5 Invitational in Illinois, but he still managed to hold on and make the cut right on the line.

Ted added a 36-36-72 on Friday, 1 over par, and heads into today's third round at 4 under, the cut line. On the front nine, he took one bogey and one birdie, and began the back still at 5 under. He then bogeyed No. 11, but took it right back with a birdie on 12. All he needed to do was play the last six holes in no worse than 1 over to survive for the weekend. A bogey on 14 put him in a precarious position, but he held on well and parred the last four holes.

The unbelievably-named Christopher Petefish leads at the halfway point with 65-66-131, 11 under, so Ted isn't that far off the pace, even at a tie for 53rd. There are four tied at 10 under, three at 9 under and five at 8 under, so this one's wide open.

Recent winner (Gator) Tyson Alexander missed the cut with 70-72-142.

ROGER IS OUT - Roger Rowland missed the cut at the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, adding a 78 to his opening 74 to wind  up at 10 over par. The cut line came at +3.

Stephen Ames leads after 36 holes with 68-66-134, 9 under par, and there are three at 7 under - Scott McCarron, Bernhard Langer and Steven Alker. Gators Brian Gay (-6) and Chris DiMarco (-1) made the cut, but Scott Dunlap and Mark Calcavecchia didn't.
