Potter Salvages Round 3 with Late Birdies
Sunday, February 19, 2017

It took a flurry of birdies near the end of round three for Ted Potter to keep from slipping well down the leaderboard at the Panama Claro Championship. Ted began on the front nine and made two birdies and two bogeys for even-par 35. On the back, he double bogeyed the par-4 11th and bogeyed 13 and 14 to drop to four over before he righted the ship with birdies on three par 4s, the 15th, 16th and 18th.

The flurry moved him back to 3 under for 54 holes, eight strokes behind the leader, Andrew Putnam, but still in a good position to snag another top 20 finish with a solid round today. Putnam holds a one-stroke lead over Mark Anderson, who is 10 under.
