Potter Posts 2-Over 75, Tied for 28th in Maui
Friday, January 4, 2019

Despite enjoying a perfect day with his driver, Ted Potter posted a 2-over-par 75 in the first round of the $6.5 million Sentry Tournament of Champions in Maui, and he sits in a tie for 28th place among 34 of the world's best players.

Even though he found every fairway off the tee, Ted sprayed several attempts at the greens and hit just 13, making only two birdies. He also had two bogeys and one disastrous double and will have to put it another gear today to close the gap on leader Kevin Tway, who shot 7-under 66 on the par-73 Plantation Course at Kapalua. He holds a one-stroke lead over Gary Woodland, Justin Thomas and defending champ Dustin Johnson.

The lone Gator, Billy Horschel, shot 1-under 72, and the only Seminole, Player of the Year Brooks Koepka, shot a disappointing 3-over 76.
