Potter Bows Out at Sawgrass After Second-Round 71
Saturday, June 13, 2020

Ted Potter missed the cut yesterday at the Korn Ferry Challenge at TPC Sawgrass, tacking on a 1-over-par 71 to his opening 74 for a 5-over total of 145. The cut at the Dye's Valley course came at 1-under 139.

There's a rare 5-way tie for the lead at 6 under among Scott Langley, Lee Hodges, Paul Barjon, Ben Kohles and Kristoffer Ventura (no relation to the head of OBS).

Ted made three birdies and two bogeys in Friday's round, but a double-bogey six on the fourth hole again hurt his chances. For the 36 holes, he made five birdies and five bogeys, along with the double and a Thursday triple.

Ted will move back to the PGA Tour on Thursday in Hilton Head at the RBC Heritage.

Among the other scores: Gator Camilo Villegas made the cut with 67-70-137, 3 under, and Seminole Hank Lebioda made it with 68-69-137.  Gator Tyson Alexander missed it with 73-72-145, as did Seminole Jack Maguire with 71-71-142.

Wade Binfield, a recent winner of the Ocala  Open at Candler Hills, is still alive after rounds of 69-69-138, while recent two-time winner Dan McCarthy went home after rounds of 75-71-146. Mark Blakefield, winner of a Hooter's event at Golden Hills (by one stroke over Ted Potter), is also gone after rounds of 77-75-152.
