Monday, November 12, 2018

After a month layoff, Ted Potter will be back in action this week in an event at which he enjoyed good success last season. Ted tied for 13th in the RSM Classic played over two courses in nearby Sea Island, Georgia.

Ted posted rounds of 68-68-67-67-270, 12 under par, and collected a check of $116,250. He finished nine strokes behind Austin Cook, whose 261 was 21 under, good for a check of $1,116,000.

The first two rounds will be played over two courses, the par-70 Seaside (7,005 yards) and the par-72 Plantation (7,058 yards). After the 36-hole cut, the Seaside course is utilized for the weekend rounds.

Cook will be back to defend his title in the $6.4 million event and will be joined by such as Jason Dufner, Ernie Els, Zach Johnson and host Davis Love III. Also on board is resurgent Jim Furyk, who just tied for sixth in the Mayakoba Golf Classic won by Matt Kuchar by a stroke over Danny Lee, who closed with 65. Kuchar finished at 22 under par after a Sunday 69.

Rickie Fowler and Tony Finau were in a deadlock at 14 under in Mexico, tied for 16th. Gator Billy Horschel tied for 21st at 13 under, and Brian Gay tied for 41st at 9 under. Gay, who finished third in the RSM last year, will be back, along with fellow Gator Matt Every.
