Most of the PGA Tour players, including Ted Potter, opted to stay home despite the $7 million purse in the CIMB Classic in Kuala Lumpur. After 36 holes, Pat Perez holds a one-stroke edge over Xander Schauffele, who is three strokes ahead of a group in third. Perez shot 66-65-131, 13 under par.

    Oldster Davis Love III is tied for 23rd at 4 under, same score as Camilo Villegas, lone Gator in the group. Justin Thomas (70-71-141), biggest name in the field along with Hideki Matsuyama, is at 3 under.
