Oosthuizen Leads Unknowns in Mexico by One
Friday, March 2, 2018

Louis Oosthuizen is all alone at the top of the leaderboard at the WGC Championships - Mexico after he fired a 7-under 64 in Mexico City yesterday. But his closest pursuers might be mistaken for Web.com Tour players.

Tied for second at 6 under are unknown Chris Paisley, 2017 Rookie of the Year Xander Schauffele and Shubhankar Sharma (who?).

The first of the big guns showing up is Jon Rahm, who is 4 under and tied for seventh. Sergio Garcia and Rickie Fowler are 3 under, Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson, Phil Mickelson and Seminole Daniel Berger 2 under, and still struggling Jordan Spieth 1 under. Honda Classic winner Justin Thomas is 1 over.

Bubba had a chance to run away from the field after going 7 under after 11 holes. But three bogeys and a double on the last seven holes sliced his score by five shots.
