Trainer Saffie A. Joseph Jr. brought two OBS graduates to Charles Town on Friday night and came away with a pair of graded stakes wins.

Daniel Alonso’s Skippylongstocking (Exaggerator – Twinkling) defended his title in the $1 million, Gr. II Charles Town Classic Stakes, going straight to the lead and never looking back en route to a 5 3/4length victory. That’s seven graded stakes victories for the 4-year-old son of Exaggerator, purchased for $37,000 out of the Top Line Sales consignment at the 2021 OBS Spring Sale after breezing an eighth in :10 2/5. The win leaves him with a 26-9-2-5 career record and $2,992,985 in earnings.

C2 Racing Stable and Stefania Farms’ Mystic Lake (Mo Town – Salty Soul) romped to an easy victory in the $750,000, Gr. II Charles Town Oaks, pressing the pace, taking charge turning for home and drawing off with ease to score by 5 3/4 lengths. It’s the second graded stakes win for the 3-year-old Florida-bred filly by Mo Town, a two-time OBS graduate, sold by Summerfield (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck), Agent, at the 2022 October Yearling Sale and then purchased for $130,000 out of the Tom McCrocklin consignment at the 2023 March Sale after turning in an Under Tack quarter in :20 4/5. Her record now stands at 11-5-3-1, and she has earned $758,554.

Siena Farm and WinStar Farm’s Caitlinhergrtness (Omaha Beach – Belatrix) beat the boys on Friday in the $1,002,000 King’s Plate Stakes at Woodbine. The 3-year-old daughter of Omaha Beach moved to contention on the turn, caught the leader a sixteenth from home and eased away late to a 1 3/4-length victory. Trained by Kevin Attard, her first stakes win leaves her with a 7-3-1-1 record and $627,069 in earnings. Consigned by Off the Hook, Agent, to the 2023 OBS Spring Sale, she was sold for $375,000 after breezing an eighth in :10 flat at the Under Tack Show.
A pair of OBS Spring Sale graduates earned TDN ‘Rising Star’ status with powerful debuts at Saratoga this past week.

On Thursday, trainer Linda Rice unveiled Winning Move Stable, John C. Oxley, Lady Sheila Stable and Rideau Racers’ With the Angels (Omaha Beach – Sister Margaret) and the 2-year-old daughter of Omaha Beach cruised to a frontrunning victory by 11 1/2 lengths. At the 2024 OBS Spring Sale, she was purchased for $350,000 after working an Under Tack eighth in :9 4/5.

On Friday, Chad Brown sent out Don Alberto Stable’s Senza Parole (Gun Runner – Senza Te) for her first start and the 2-year-old Gun Runner filly took command after a quarter mile and romped home by 7 3/4 lengths. Consigned by Scanlon Training & Sales, Agent, to the 2024 OBS Spring Sale, she went through the ring after breezing an eighth in :10 flat.
