HALLANDALE BEACH - The mandatory payout of the 20-cent Rainbow 6 yielded an $11,600 payout to those bettors holding tickets with all six winners at Gulfstream Park today.
The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot stood at $3,612,593 at the start of wagering, and $10,675,853 was bet into the pool. The multi-race wager had gone unsolved for 41 racing days of the 2019-2020 Championship Meet prior to the mandatory payout.
WHO'S HOT - Irad Ortiz Jr., who guided Mucho Gusto to victory in Saturday’s $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational, rode three winners on today’s card: Blazing Desire ($7) in Race 6, Free to Fly ($5) in Race 7, and Hay Dakota ($12) in Race 10.
Jason Servis-trained Hay Dakota set a course record for the about 7 ½-furlongs on turf while winning the optional claiming allowance for 4-year-olds and up with a 1:26.91 clocking.
Apprentice Cristian Torres and trainer Joe Orseno teamed for a double, scoring with Combination ($9) in Race 4 and Babie Monster ($51.40) in Race 9.
