Horschel Tied for Honda Lead
Friday, February 24, 2023

Billy Horschel hasn't dented the PGA Tour headlines yet this season, but he still has managed to deposit $853,290 in the bank. The ex-Gator came out running in the first round of the Honda Classic in Palm Beach Gardens yesterday, posting a 5-under-par 65 at PGA National and heading into round 2 tied at the top with Joseph Bramlett and Carson Young.

Horschel is in 70th place on the Tour's money list, but he can move up significantly if he keeps it up in the $8.4 million event. Three other Gators are playing, with rookie Tyson Alexander in best shape - tied for 49th after an opening 70. Tyson has accumulated $1,035,356 in his first season. Brian Gay is at 2-over-72, while Camilo Villegas pretty much knocked himself out with a 10-over 80. The early projected cut line stands at even par.

Seminole Hank Lebioda is at 6 over 76.
