Saturday, February 25, 2023

Gator Billy Horschel wasn't able to repeat Thursday's great round (65) in the Honda Classic, and he fell out of a first-place tie and dropped 28 places with his Friday 73. He's now 2 under par, eight strokes behind new leader Justin Suh (66-64-130).

Suh leads Chris Kirk (69-62-131) by a stroke, and Ryan Gerard (69-63-132) and Ben Taylor (67-65-132) by two heading into round 3 today at the PGA National course in Palm Beach Gardens.

Gator Tyson Alexander, who now lives in the Jacksonville area but plays out of Gainesville, has posted a pair of even-par 70s and is 10 strokes off the pace. Tyson was in trouble wen he was 1 over early in the round, but was able to qualify for the weekend when the cut line dropped to plus one.

The other Gators in the field, Brian Gay (72-73-145) and Camilo Villegas (80-71-151) both missed the cut, as did Seminole Hank Lebioda (76-66-142).
