Monday, June 20, 2022

Tyson Alexander moved one step closer to his first try on the PGA Tour at the age of 33 with a tie for fourth at the Korn Ferry Tour's Wichita Open. The ex-Gator who still plays out of Gainesville shot 19-under-par in Kansas, seven strokes behind Norman Xiong's sensational 26-under 254, collecting a check for $31,125.

Tyson moved up from 13th on the Korn Ferry money list to third with earnings of $232,172. He has six regular season events left to hold his position, plus the three finals tournaments worth $1 million each. However, Tyson didn't enter this week's event, the Live and Work in Maine Open at the Falmouth Country Club.

Ted Potter will be on hand for the $750,000 event after he missed the cut in Wichita. Ted shot 74-72-146, 6 over par and missed the cut of -4 by 10 strokes.
