Every Implodes at Bay Hill; Hatton and Kang Tied for Lead
Saturday, March 7, 2020

After turning in a flawless scorecard that included seven birdies at Bay Hill on Thursday, Matt Every imploded in the Arnold Palmer Invitational on Friday. The ex-Gator made just one birdie in round 2, added four double bogeys, and shot 11-over 83, an unbelievable 18-stroke difference over the 36 holes. And Matt wound up missing the cut of plus 3 by one stroke.

The two other Gators in the 141-man field, Billy Horschel and Brian Gay, both made the cut at 1-over-par 145, same as Seminole Brooks Koepka. The other Seminole, Hank Lebioda, missed the cut at plus 10.

Heading into round 3, Tyrell Hatton (68-69-137) and Sung Kang (69-68-137) are tied for the lead at 7 under, one better than Danny Lee. There are three tied for fourth at 5 under, including Rory McIlroy (66-73-139).

The big guns who missed the cut is formidable - Phil Mickelson, Henrik Stenson, Tony Finau, Adam Scott, Bubba Watson, Justin Rose, Alex Noren, Padraig Harrington and Tommy Fleetwood. Jason Day's injuries caused him to leave the course in mid-round.
