Potter Tries Again at Puerto Rico Open This Week
Monday, February 17, 2020

Ted Potter will attempt to snap his string of three missed cuts at the $3 million Puerto Rico Open this week, in a field replete with fringe players who have lost their exemptions and been unable to make it into most of the PGA fields in recent months, or even years.

That long list trying to make it back to the big time at the par-72 Grand Reserve Country Club includes Robert Allenby, Ricky Barnes, Charlie Beljan, Chad Campbell, Alex Cejka, Daniel Chopra, Gator Chris Couch, Carlos Franco, John Merrick, D. A. Points, Dicky Pride, Freddy Jacobson, John Rollins and John Senden. Among those who have been playing but are not eligible for the WGC-Mexico are Bill Haas, J. J. Henry, Alex Noren, Peter Uihlein and Jhonattan Vegas.

Last year's winner of the event at the Coco Beach Golf & Country Club was Martin Trainer and he's back to try to take home $540,000 again. Couch played last year in one of the few events he has made it into since returning from injury; he finished tied for 66th and earned $6,240.
