Potter Will Try for a Little Luck in Las Vegas
Wednesday, October 7, 2020

Last year at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas, Ted Potter shot 70-68 over the par-71 TPC Summerlin course, which was 4 under par. He still missed the cut. Tomorrow, Ted will try again in the $7 million event that was won by Kevin Na, who cashed a check for $1,260,000. Na is back to defend his title.

Among Na's major foes will be Sergio Garcia, who won the Sanderson Farms in Mississippi Sunday, with a final round 67 that sent him to 19 under par. He won by a stroke over Peter Malnati and three over j. T. Poston.

Gator Camilo Villegas finished tied for 23rd at 10 under after a Sunday 66 and will be playing this week in his comeback effort, along with Gator Brian Gay. Seminole Hank Lebioda tied for 44th at 5 under, but he will pass up the Vegas event.

Some of the other big guns playing are Bryson DeChambeau, Rickie Fowler, Jason Day, Zach Johnson, Keegan Bradley, Paul Casey, K. J. Choi, Jimmy Walker and Stewart Cink.

Ted, who has missed the first two cuts of the current season, tees off at 12:35 in the company of Richy Werenski and Satoshi Kodaira.
