Memorial Park Course Stymies Houston Open Field
Friday, November 6, 2020

The biggest winner in Humble, Texas yesterday was the Memorial Park Golf Course, where only 27 players out of 132 were able to break the par of 70 in the Vivant Houston Open

Brandt Snedeker shot 5-under-65 to take the early lead, and there's a 6-way tie for second at 3-under 67, the group including Jason Day and Scottie Scheffler. Of the 27 who shot under par, 11 of them were at 1 under.

Ted Potter had an undistinguished day, making six bogeys and a lone birdie for 5-over-75, three over the early cut line of plus 2. Ted was okay at 3 over after 14 holes, but bogeys on 6 and 7 made today's task much more difficult.

Phil Mickelson no doubt knocked himself out with a 6-over-76, and Gator Camilo Villegas shot 4-over-74. Brian Gay, last week's winner, withdrew to celebrate his victory. Defending champ Lanto Griffin is at 2 over par 72, along with Seminole Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson.
