Spieth Leads at Halfway Point of Charles Schwab Challenge

    Jordan Spieth takes a one-stroke lead into today's third round of the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas, posting a Friday 66 after his opening-round 63 for 129, 11 under par. Jason Kokrak is alone in second with a pair of 65's for 130, 10 under.

    The cut at the Colonial Country Club came at 1 over par, and among those who missed it by one stroke were Phil Mickelson and Patrick Reed. 

    Tied for third at 8 under are Sergio Garcia (63-69-132), Sebastian Munoz (67-65) and Patton Kizzire (67-65). Erik Compton, the much-chronicled heart transplant recipient of many years ago, put together rounds of 65-68 for 133, and at 7 under is tied for sixth. 

    The lone Seminole in the field, always-in-the-hunt Daniel Berger, is tied  for 16th with 4-under 68-68-136. Two Gators made the cut, Billy Horschel (71-68-139, 1 under, tied for 42nd), and Camilo Villegas (69-71-140, even par, tied for 49th).
