Potter Adds 68 at AT&T Byron Nelson, Tied for 12th
Saturday, May 15, 2021

Ted Potter began the second round at the AT&T Byron Nelson in McKinney, Texas yesterday with a bogey, but that's the last one he made, and he finished 36 holes at 10-under-par 134, tied for 12th. Ted's rounds of 66-68 at the TPC Craig Ranch left him seven strokes behind Sam Burns, who added a sizzling 10-under 62 to his opening 65 and at 17 under holds a two-stroke lead over Alex Noren (65-64-129).

In an unusual twist rarely seen on tour, the players in the first five spots on the leader board are all alone - there are no ties until sixth place, at which there is a 6-way deadlock at 11 under. K. H. Lee is third at -14, Doc Redman fourth at -13, and J. J. Spaun fifth at -12. Included in the deadlock for sixth are Jordan Spieth, Matt Kuchar and Charl Schwartzel.

After Ted's first-hole bogey, he birdied 5, 6 and 9 for a front-nine 34. On the back, he made seven  pars, adding birdies on the 13th hole and the 16th, where he canned a 17-foot putt. He tees off today with Joseph Bramlett at noon Texas time, 1 p. m. EST.

With the entire field making birdies almost at will, the halfway cut, which often comes in the plus column, this time wound up at 6 under. There were 20 players at the cut line, but another 19 missed the cut despite shooting 5 under, a list that included Jason Day, Rickie Fowler and Jimmy Walker.

For the Seminoles, Hank Lebioda (67-67-134) is tied for 12th and Daniel Berger (69-67-136) is tied for 27th; Brooks Koepka (71-70, -3) missed the cut. Gator Matt Every (70-76, +2) also headed home.
