Hadley Opens Up 4-Stroke Lead in South Carolina
Sunday, June 13, 2021

Once more, the third-round leader has an edge that seems tough to beat, but after Jon Rahm's forced withdrawal last week at the Memorial when he was home free, anything, it appears, is possible.

Chesson Hadley shot 68 yesterday at the Palmetto Championship at Congaree and moved to 14 under par, making it difficult to think anyone can overtake him today without Chesson falling into a lake. Harris English is second at 10 under, followed by unknown Garrick Higgo at 8 under, and four tied at 7 under, including disappointing Dustin Johnson, and just-turned 46 Bo Van Pelt.

While Van Pelt rocketed up the leader board with a 5-under 66, Dustin looked ragged as he turned in a 2-over-par 73 with some poor putting.

Seminole Hank Lebioda, the only one of five Florida collegians (Florida/FSU) left standing, is tied for 47th at 1 under.
