Monday, January 25, 2021
LECANTO - A variety of Tour professionals will gather at famed Black Diamond Ranch this spring for North Florida’s newest professional golf tournament, the Black Diamond Open. The popular facility will host approximately 156 professionals of both sexes and all ages, competing for a purse of $50,000 with $10,000 going to the champion. The event will be held on April 22 and 23rd on the famed Quarry Course at Black Diamond

“We are looking forward to hosting some of the best future players in the world in a unique format encouraging young pros, seniors and women competing in the same tournament,” Robert Everett, Director of Golf at Black Diamond Ranch, said.

The tournament is positioned after the pre-qualifying rounds and before Monday qualifying for the PGA Tour’s Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Resort near Tarpon Springs. The event will be preceded by a pro-am on Wednesday, April 21.

The Black Diamond Open is open to mini tour players, senior professionals, female professionals and amateurs with a scratch handicap or less. They will compete for the same prize money from commensurate tee markers.

In addition to the opportunity for the pros to sharpen their games in competition, the event will raise funds for the North Florida Junior Golf Foundation and Youth on Course.

Jack Aschenbach, elected to the North Florida PGA Hall of Fame last year, is Tournament Director. For more information visit NFJG.org <http://nfjg.org/>
