Young Falters, Cantlay Leads in Hilton Head

    Add the $8 million RBC Heritage to the growing list where the first-round leaders tank on Friday and make way for a new group at the top for the weekend.

    Thursday leader Cam Young went from 8-under-par 63 to 2-over 73 at Hilton Head's Harbour Town Golf Links, and, at 6 under, dropped into a tie for third. Joaquin Niemann went from 6-under 65 to 1-over 72 and fell from second to a tie for eighth at 5 under. 

    The new leader heading into the weekend is steady Patrick Cantlay with 66-67-133, 9 under. Robert Streb is second with 68-67-135, 7 under. There are five at 6 under, including Young.

    Gators: Camilo Villegas - 71-67-138, 4 under, tied for 14th; Billy Horschel - 69-69-138, tied for 14th, 4 under; Brian Gay - 67-75-142, even par, tied for 56th (the cutoff). Seminoles: Daniel Berger - 71-70-141, 1 under, tied for 44th; Hank Lebioda - 70-73-143, 1 over, missed the cut. Also missing the cut were Cam Smith (+1) and  Dustin Johnson (+1).
