Well-Rested Oosthuizen Returns for Phoenix Open
Tuesday, February 8, 2022

Ocala's Louis Oosthuizen makes his long-awaited return to the PGA Tour in this week's Waste Management Phoenix Open, which features a star-studded field competing at the par-71 TPC Scottsdale. Seminole Brooks Koepka will try to make it two in a row at the $8.2 million event, which he won last year by one stroke after rounds of 68-66-66-65-265, 19 under par.

Xander Schauffele tanked on Sunday with an even-par 71 after heading into the finale at 18 under. Just a 2-under 69 would have earned him the $1,314,000 first prize, but he fell into a tie for second.

Louis also had a chance for the title on Sunday after he posted rounds of 69-67-63, 14 under; he was one stroke ahead of Koepka at the time. But Louis also shot 71 in the finale and wound up tied for 11th.

Aside from Koepka, Seminoles Daniel Berger and Hank Lebioda are entered, along with Gators Billy Horschel and Brian Gay.
