Tough Bay Hill Takes Its Toll on Arnold Palmer Invitational Field
Sunday, March 8, 2020

The big winner at the Bay Hill Golf Club and Lodge yesterday was the Bay Hill Golf Club and Lodge. Saturday's all-day wind and chill led to an afternoon in which, incredibly, only one player shot under par at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Max Homa's 2-under-70 was two strokes better than a group of seven at even-par 72, on a day when eight players shot in the 80s.

When the smoke cleared, Tyrell Hatton, who had an up-and-down round himself, held a two-stroke lead over Marc Leishman and Rory McIlroy. Hatton posted a 1-over 73 and is 6 under heading into today's finale. Leishman's even-par 72 has him at 4 under, along with McIlroy, who also shot 73. The 72 group also included Xander Schauffele, Viktor Hovland and Bryson DeChambeau.

Gator Billy Horschel is tied for 51st at plus 7 after a 5-over 77, and Brian Gay is tied for 59th st plus 9 after a 6-over 78. Seminole Brooks Koepka was one of the plus-80 shooters (81) and is also 9 over.
