Thomas Opens 2-Stroke Lead at Muirfield Village
Sunday, July 12, 2020

Legitimate contenders for winning the Workday Charity Open has dwindled down to a precious few, led by Justin Thomas, who is 16 under par after 54 holes at Muirfield Village. He holds a two-stroke edge over Viktor Hovland at 14 under, and three over Collin Morikawa at 13 under.

Sam Burns and Kevin Streelman are tied for fourth at 11 under and it would no doubt take a record effort by anybody else to take down the major share of the $6.2 million purse late today.

Ted Potter bowed out at the halfway point after rounds of 74-76-150, 6 over par, with double bogeys once again destroying his chances.

Gator Brian Gay has a chance for a high finish - he's tied for 19th at 6 under, and Billy Horschel is another stroke behind, tied for 29th at 5 under. Seminoles Brooks Koepka (-1) and Hank Lebioda (+1) missed the cut.
