Robert Streb birdied the second playoff hole to defeat Kevin Kisner in the $6.6 million RSM Classic yesterday at Sea Island, Georgia. Streb had finished at 19 under 263, while Kisner shot a Sunday 7-under-63 to gain the tie over the Seaside course.
Cameron Tringale finished third, one stroke behind, after posting one of two 8-under 62s; the other was by Harris English, who tied for sixth at 16 under.
Gator Camilo Villegas recorded his best PGA Tour finish in a long while with a final-round 66 for 266, just three behind the winner.
Ted Potter missed the cut once again with 74-7-146, 4 over par, and has yet to make a cut during the 2020-2021 season. Ted made just four birdies over 36 holes, along with six bogeys and one double. His problems can be traced to two areas - he hit just 15 of 28 fairways, and 22 of 36 greens.
Seminole Hank Lebioda missed the cut with 73-68, as did Gator Matt Every with 73-69.
The tour is off this week and will return in two weeks at the $7.2 million Mayakoba Golf Classic at Playa del Carmen, Mexico. That will end the year, with the Jan. 7 Sentry Tour of Champions the first event of 2021.
