Schenk Tied for Farmers Insurance Lead After 10-Under-Par 62

    Adam Schenk went on a birdie binge at the $8.5 million Farmers Insurance Open, and he's tied with Justin Thomas and Jon Rahm at the halfway point at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California. Schenk birdied an incredible eight holes in a row from the fourth through the 11th for a second-round 62, added two more on 16 and 17, and heads into round 3 at 13 under par (69-62-131). He birdied five par 4's, all four par 5's and one par 3.

    Thomas has posted rounds of 68-63, and Rahm 66-65 to join the deadlock. Cameron Tringale (67-65-132) is one back at 12 under. 

    Alex Smalley, all but eliminated after a Thursday 73, emulated Schenk with a 10-under 62 and is tied for sixth at 9 under; he recorded eight birdies and an eagle. 

    Gators: Billy Horschel (63-73-136, 8 under, tied for 12th; Camilo Villegas (70-69-139, 5 under, tied for 35th).

    Seminoles: Daniel Berger (67-72-139, 5 under, tied for 35th); Hank Lebioda (74-67-141, 3 under, tied for 62nd); Brooks Koepka (70-74-144, even par, missed the cut). 

   The cut came at 3 under and among those missing it were Rickie Fowler, Bryson DeChambeau, Tony Finau, Sam Homa and Phil Mickelson.
