Rainbow 6 Will Surpass $1 Million Today

    HALLANDALE BEACH - The 20-cent Rainbow 6 went unsolved for the 15th consecutive racing day Thursday, growing the carryover jackpot to $1,010,689.13 for today’s 11-race program that begins with a 12:35 p.m. first post.

    A total of $382,978 was bet into the multi-race wager, which began with a carryover of $918,789 from Wednesday’s card. Multiple tickets with all six winners Thursday were each worth $6,134.84. Since the 2018-19 Championship Meet kicked off Dec. 1, the Rainbow 6 has been hit seven times, most recently for a $227,505.88 payout Feb. 15.


    POST TIME CHANGES - This weekend’s start of Daylight Saving Time marks a change in first post for the duration of the 2018-19 Championship Meet. Starting Wednesday, March 13, post time will be 1:15 p.m. on weekdays and 12:45 p.m. on weekends, with the exception of Florida Derby Day, Saturday March 30. The Championship Meet concludes Sunday, March 31.

    WHO'S HOT - Championship Meet leader Irad Ortiz Jr. rode three consecutive winners Thursday with Papa’s Little Girl ($6.60) in Race 6, Julia’s Kitty ($4.20) in Race 7 and Uhtred ($19) in Race 8. Paco Lopez had a riding triple on Nileator ($9.20) in Race 3, Fortune Cookie ($10.60) in Race 4 and Wisely ($6).
