Potter Vaults Up Leaderboard Again in Korea
Saturday, October 20, 2018

After moving up 42 spots in the second round of the CJ Cup@Nine Bridges, Ted Potter jumped up another 20 places with a brilliant 7-under-par 65 in round 3, and heads into the finale in a deadlock for 10th. After his opening 77, Ted is now just six strokes behind leader Brooks Koepka, and only two behind the pair tied for second at 9 under, Ian Poulter and Scott Piercy.

Ted played the back nine first in round 3 and brought it to its knees with birdies on 11, 14 and 18 and an eagle 3 on the par-5 12th for a 5-under 31. He remained at 5 under with pars on 1 through 7 before birdieing 8 and 9 for a 2-under 34.

With a total purse of $9.5 million, one more good round today and Ted has a chance to make a sizeable monetary score. There's $1,620,000 awaiting the winner, $972,000 for second, and $612,000 for third, while 10th place itself is worth $243,000.

Koepka, the most successful player ever to come out of FSU, has two Major victories on his resume in 2018 and is looking to get off to another fast start in the wrap-around season. He's posted rounds of 71-65-67-203.

    Gators: Billy Horschel - 74-74-71-219, 3 over, tied for 66th; Brian Gay - 74-70-73-217, 1 over, tied for 55th.
