Monday, November 6, 2017

After missing the cut in his last two events, Ted Potter will try to turn it around in Mexico this week at the $7.1 million OHL Classic at Mayakoba. Several of the tour's stars who have been in hibernation lately will be back for this one, played at the El Camaleon Golf Club in Playa del Carmen, including Rickie Fowler, Zach Johnson, Emiliano Grillo and Patrick Reed.

All the Gators are entered - Brian Gay, Brett Stegmaier,. Billy Horschel, Matt Every and Camilo Villegas. At last week's Shriners Hospitals for Children Classic, which was won in a playoff by Patrick Cantlay, Stegmaier and Villegas are the only two who made the cut, although Horschel withdrew after an opening-round 67. Stegmaier shot 67-76-71-70-284, even par, and Villegas shot 72-71-72-76-291, 7 over par.

Cantlay tied for first with Alex Cejka and Whee Kim at 9 under par after 72 holes in Las Vegas and won it after all three made par on the 18th hole. Cantlay birdied the hole on the second go-around, while Cejka made par and Kim bogey.
