Potter Tied for 74th at Pebble Beach

    Ted Potter opened the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am with an even-par 72 yesterday, making three birdies and three bogeys while playing the Pebble Beach course. Each player competes at three courses - the par-72 Pebble Beach, par-72 Spyglass Hill, and par-71 Monterey Peninsula, before winding up at Pebble Beach for the Sunday finale.

    Ted, who surprised in this event in 2017 with his second PGA Tour victory, is tied for 74th, eight strokes behind leader Nick Taylor, who shot 63 at Monterey. Patrick Cantlay and Chase Seiffert are tied for second at 6 under, Cantlay posting a 66 at Spyglass Hill and Seiffert a 66 at Pebble Beach. There's a logjam at 5 under, with eight players tied for fourth.

    Phil Mickelson is tied for 12th at 4 under after a 68 at Spyglass Hill. Gators: Matt Every is 2 under after a 70 at Pebble Beach and Brian Gay is even after a 72 at Spyglass Hill. Seminoles: Daniel Berger is 2 under and tied for 44th after a 70 at Spyglass Hill; Hank Lebioda is 2 over after a 74 at Pebble Beach. 

    In the pro-am division, Ted and his partner, named Law, are 4 under. They go off on No. 10 today at 11:11 EST with J. B. Holmes and his partner.
