Friday, January 24, 2020

Looking to make his third cut in a row, Ted Potter didn't help himself in the first round of the Farmers Insurance Open yesterday at Torrey Pines. Ted put up nines of 36-37-73, 1 over par over the South course, and left himself some work to do today. The early cut looked like it could come at 1 under.

Ted played the front nine making one birdie and one bogey, then had two bogeys and one birdie on the back, finishing with a bogey on 18. He's tied for 87th.

Sebastian Cappelen is tied for the lead with Keegan Bradley at 6-under-66, one stroke better than a group of eight at 5 under, including Rory McIlroy and Bubba Watson.

Tiger Woods made his 2020 debut on the North course and is tied for 21st at 3 under. After a back-nine 36, Tiger birdied 1, 5 and 9 on the front for 33. Phil Mickelson is tied for 71st at even par, along with Seminole Hank Lebioda. Gator Billy Horschel is 4 under, tied for 11th.
