Saturday, June 2, 2018

After missing the cut in five straight events after his victory in the AT&T Pebble Beach Open earlier this season, Ted Potter has now made the cut in five straight.

Ted posted a 2-under-par 70 yesterday in the second round of The Memorial in Dublin, Ohio, and heads into today's third round at 2 under, nine strokes behind leaders Kyle Stanley and Joaquin Niemann. Ted began the second round on the back nine and made birdies on the 10th and 15th holes, and took a bogey on 16, for a 1-under 35. On the front, he birdied the eighth and made eight pars for another 35. He's tied for 52nd at 142.

Ted was over par at the end of 36 holes in each of the tournaments where he missed the cut, 36 over in all. He has been under par at the halfway point in the five events since, 20 under overall.

Tiger Woods had a huge day in round 2, posting a 5-under-par 67 despite starting off with a bogey and missing several short putts. He's tied for 24th, having moved up 23 places.

    Phil Mickelson rebounded from an opening 74 and added a 6-under 66 for 140, 4 under. After an even-par back nine, he birdied 1, 2, 5, 6, 8 and 9 for a front-nine 30.

Gator Brian Gay made the cut (even par) with 69-71-140, 4 under, but Billy Horschel missed it with 70-76.
