Potter Set to Kick Off PGA Season on Coast
Thursday, October 5, 2017

With the Web.com's final event not coming to a conclusion until Monday, it took a few extra days to get a complete list of competitors for today's opening of the PGA Tour's wraparound season - the $6.2 million Safeway Open in Napa, California. And, it turns out, Ted Potter will make his full-time return to the tour, even though he wasn't included on the list earlier in the week.

Ted tees off at the Silverado Resort & Spa (North) at 8:10 California time in the company of Scott Piercy and Carl Petterson.

The field is devoid of most of the tour's marquee names, those who played in the Presidents Cup, but a few will be there, including Phil Mickelson. John Daly is also on board, along with Tony Finau, Adam Hadwin, Emiliano Grillo and Sam Saunders, who shot 59 at the Web.com's Tour Championship.

Four Gators will try to get off to a quick start - Brett Stegmaier, Camilo Villegas, Brian Gay and Matt Every. Gator Billy Horschel and Seminoles Brooks Koepka and Daniel Berger will sit this one out.
