Potter Misses Pebble Beach Cut By 3 Strokes
Sunday, February 9, 2020

It was the old case of too little, too late for Ted Potter at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am yesterday.

Ted began Saturday five strokes off the cut line of 3 under par and played a bogey-free round, but he made just two birdies to wind up with a 69 on the Monterey Peninsula course, bowing out with even-par 72-74-69-215. Playing the front nine first, Ted made nine pars, then made seven pars plus birdies on 10 and 18 on the back. After making two straight cuts, he has now missed the last three.

Nick Taylor heads into today's finale at 17-under-par 198, and holds a one-stroke edge on astounding Phil Mickelson, who added a 67 to his previous rounds of 68-64 for a total of 199, 16 under. Phil fired up the the big crowd following him with an eye-opening series of pitch shots and bunker shots, some that went in the hole and others that missed by inches.

Following the lead pair are Jason Day at 14-under 201, and Gator Matt Every, playing his best golf in a long time. Matt's 204 total (70-66-68) has him fourth at 11 under.

Gator Brian Gay (72-68-68-208) is tied for 15th at 7 under, and Seminole Daniel Berger is tied for 20th (70-69-70) at 6-under 209.
