Potter Misses Farmers Insurance Open Cut by Two Strokes
Saturday, January 25, 2020

After making eight pars and one birdie on the back nine at Torrey Pines in yesterday's second round at the Farmers Insurance Open, all Ted Potter needed was to do the same on the front and he would have made the 36-hole cut at 1 under par. Ted made his birdie, but he also had two bogeys, and missed the cut with 73-72-145, ending his making-the-cut streak at two events.

For the two days, Ted made just four birdies, along with five bogeys.

Ryan Palmer was in top form in round 2, firing a 10-under-par 62 after his opening-round 72 and at 10 under par, he holds a two-stroke lead over Brandt Snedeker. There are four tied for third at 7 under.

Gator Billy Horschel is tied for 17th at 4 under after rounds of 68-72, along with Tiger Woods, who began with a four-putt double bogey on the first hole, then rallied to wind up with a 1-under 71.  Tiger hit the first green in two, putted up to two feet from the hole, and instead of marking and waiting to putt for his par, he walked up and slapped at it, missing the hole and sliding five feet past. He then blew the bogey putt. At 4 under, he's six strokes off the lead heading into round 3, which has been held up for two hours due to extreme fog in San Diego.
