Sunday, August 26, 2018

Ted Potter had an up-and-down round at the Northern Trust Open in round 3, shooting his second straight 2-under-par 69 and heading into today's finale at 4 under, tied for 42nd. He's 12 strokes behind leader Bryson DeChambeau, who fashioned an 8-under 63 and moved to 16 under par and a four-stroke edge over Keegan Bradley.

Bradley had the round of the day, a 9-under 62, and is all alone at 12 under.

Ted began with birdies at the first two holes, bogeyed the fourth, birdied the fifth and shot 33 on the front nine. He birdied 12 and 18 on the back, but bogeys at 15 and 17 kept him at even-par 36. He played with Jordan Spieth, who went on a back-nine tear and birdied 12, 13, 15, 16 and 17 en route to a 7-under 64.

Tiger Woods played a steady round during which he made 15 pars and three birdies for a 3-under 68 and at 3 under is tied for 49th. His round could have been much lower, but he missed several easy birdie chances.

Phil Mickelson shot 3-under 68 and is tied for seventh at 9 under, along with Seminole Brooks Koepka, who dropped back with a 1-over 72. Gator Billy Horschel is at 10-under 203, tied for fifth, Brian Gay is at 2 under 211, tied for 55th, and Daniel Berger's 207, 6 under, is tied for 26th.
