PGA Tour Continues to Mosey Along in Houston
Wednesday, November 9, 2022

The Cadence Bank Houston Open begins Thursday with a small group of former stars ready to compete, but still lacking the star power that formerly accounted for huge crowds trudging down the 18th fairway late on Sundays.

The field for the $8.4 million event at the Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston has attracted such oldies as Stewart Cink, Tony Finau, Jason Day, Jason Dufner, Hideki Matsuyama, Francesco Molinari, Zach Johnson, Jimmy Walker, Charley Hoffman, Alex Noren and Justin Rose. Also, two of the top millennials of the past couple of years, Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns, but no Ted Potter, Louis Oosthuizen or any of the major players who are now cashing in big-time with the LIVs.

The only big name close by is the Dustin Johnson who is a car salesman at the Ford dealership on highway 441 north of Ocala.

Only one Gator is entered, newcomer Tyson Alexander, and the only Seminole is Hank Lebioda, who is well down the alternate's list.
