Opening 73 Puts Potter in Danger Again
Friday, November 10, 2017

Ted Potter is in danger of missing his third straight cut on the PGA Tour after shooting a 2-over-par 73 in the opening round of the OHL Classic at Mayakoba in Mexico yesterday. Ted made four bogeys and just two birdies over the par-71 El Camaleon Golf Club course in Playa del Carmen and he's tied for 108th; he hit just 9 greens in regulation. The early projected cut line is 1-under-par 70.

Patton Kizzire is the leader after he carved out a 9-under 62, and he's two strokes ahead of Vaughn Taylor and three ahead of Rickie Fowler and Brandon Harkins.

One of the five Gators, Billy Horschel, bowed out prior to the round and Matt Every and Brian Gay fared best of the remaining four with 3-under-par 68s. They're tied for 21st. Brett Stegmaier is at even-par 71 and tied for 73rd, and Camilo Villegas shot 1-over 72 and is tied for 90th.
