Monday, November 7, 2022
Rosedown Racing Stable’s Champions Dream came around horses to reach contention turning for home in Sunday’s $150,000 Nashua Stakes (G3) at Aqueduct, sustained his rally down the stretch and ran by the leaders late to score by three quarters of a length. It’s the first stakes win for the 2-year-old colt by Justify, now 3-2-0-0 with $160,250 in earnings for trainer Danny Gargan. At the 2022 OBS March Sale, he was purchased for $425,000 out of the Parrish Farms consignment after breezing a quarter in :20 4/5.

Sleeping Giant Stables, America’s Pastime Stables and KimDon Racing’s Vacation Dance took the lead at the start of Aqueduct’s $116,400 Atlantic Beach Stakes on Saturday and never looked back en route to victory by a length and a quarter. Fellow OBS graduate Inflation Nation (IRE) (Spring ’22) checked in third. It’s the first stakes victory for the graded stakes placed 2-year-old son of The Lieutenant, trained by John Kimmel, now 3-2-0-1 with earnings of $132,400. Consigned to the 2022 March Sale by James Layden, Agent, he went through the ring after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat.

Trainer Bob Baffert unveiled Zedan Racing Stables, Inc.’s Arabian Knight on Saturday in a $150,000 seven-furlong maiden special test at Keeneland and the 2-year-old Uncle Mo colt gave nothing a chance. He bounced right to the lead, drew off in the stretch and scored under wraps by 7-1/4 lengths in a rapid 1:21 4/5. The 2022 OBS Spring Sale topper was purchased for $2.3 million out of the Top Line Sales consignment by Gary Young on behalf of Zedan Racing after speeding an Under Tack eighth in :9 4/5.
