HALLANDALE BEACH - A carryover jackpot of $654,663 awaits Rainbow 6 bettors on Saturday’s 12:45 p.m. program at Gulfstream Park.

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 went unsolved for the 24rd consecutive racing day today when multiple tickets were each worth $28,637. The Rainbow was last solved July 6, when one bettor hit for a $173,583 jackpot payoff.

Saturday’s sequence will span Races 7-12. There will also be a Super Hi-5 carryover of $1,628 heading into Saturday’s card.

Multiple Group-Stakes Winner Raven’s Lady Wins Feature

Raven’s Lady, a two-time group-stakes winner in Europe last year, captured her first victory in the U.S. in today’s Race 8 feature. Owned by D. P. Racing and Medallion Racing, the 5-year-old daughter of Raven’s Pass had been winless in three previous U.S. starts, all graded stakes, before prevailing by 1 ½ lengths in the 7 ½-furlong optional claiming allowance for fillies and mares on turf.

Making her first start for trainer Patrick Biancone, Raven’s Lady was crowded and fanned wide heading into the first turn before settling well off the pace set by stablemate Beachwood Ella, who put up fractions of :23.40 and :47.64 for the first half mile. Raven’s Lady, the 9-5 favorite ridden by Jairo Rendon, rallied leaving the backstretch before making an impressive four-wide sweep to the lead entering the stretch. The English-bred mare asserted her class and drew away to victory.

“This is a nice filly,” Biancone said. “Next, she will be going to Kentucky Downs for the sprint for fillies and mares [$500,000, Gr. III Kentucky Downs Ladies Sprint, Sept. 7].

Last year, trainer Marco Botti saddled Raven’s Lady for back-to-back victories in the Gr. III Summer Stakes at York and the Gr. II Boldene Peitsche at Baden-Baden.

Raven’s Lady raced 7 ½ furlongs in 1:30.47 over a good turf course. Zarina, who captured the Martha Washington Stakes at Gulfstream in July, rallied from last while following the lead of Raven’s Lady to finish second under Leonel Reyes. Midnight Soiree finished third under Albin Jimenez, another length back.
