Leishman Takes 3-Stroke Lead in Dallas
Friday, May 18, 2018

Marc Leishman took a substantial lead in the AT&T Byron Nelson in Dallas yesterday, firing a 10-under-par 61 over the Trinity Forest Golf Club. Leishman is three ahead of J. J. Spaun and resurgent Jimmy Walker, and there's a logjam of eight players at 6 under.

The formerly prestigious event, with a purse of $7.7 million, is devoid of most of the sport's top players and gives a chance to many of the fringe sorts to improve their status.

Brian Gay leads the Gators with a 4-under 67 and is tied for 23rd, with Billy Horschel another shot back at 3-under 68. Brett Stegmaier is tied for 104th at even-par 71 and Matt Every has work to do after a 1-over 72. The projected cut after 18 holes is 2 under par.
