Koepka Shines on Seminole Sunday at Bellerive
Monday, August 13, 2018

The PGA Tour celebrated another Seminole Sunday at Bellerive, with Brooks Koepka making it three Majors in two seasons - two this year - via his stunning victory in the PGA Championship in St. Louis. Brooks was never seriously threatened in the finale, as he cruised to a record 264 - 16 under par - with rounds of 69-63-66-66.

Adding to the Seminole ledger was Daniel Berger's tie for 12th with rounds of 73-65-66-68-272, 8 under par. A better performance on Thursday would have put Daniel right in the thick of the hunt on the final 18 holes.

With the TV cameras on him for every shot Sunday, Brooks looked as cool as the proverbial cucumber. His putting was exceptional and he never allowed anyone to get close late in the day.

Tiger Woods was sensational, too, reverting to the game that propelled him to 79 victories and 14 Majors in the old days. He posted rounds of 70-66-66-64 for 14-under 266, with the 64 tying for the best round on Sunday. It won't be long before he adds victory No. 80 to his record.

Ted Potter disappointed in round 4 after getting to 2 under after 54 holes. He began well, but faltered when it counted, and he wound up tied for 71st and collecting a meager check of $19,200. He now has $1,878,908 in the bank this year, and remained in 55th place on the money list.

The Gators didn't fare nearly as well as the Seminoles in this one. Billy Horschel tied for 35th at 4-under 276, while Brian Gay beat just one foe, tying for 79th at 7 over 287.
